Hilary Returns

The dramatic 11th Symphony by Shostakovich has been labeled “the score without the film.” It describes the Russian Revolution of 1905, when the Emperor's troops fired upon demonstrators in St. Petersburg. US-born violin star, Hilary Hahn, who played a successful a concert with the orchestra last year, asked to come back to play in the new concert hall as soon as possible. She has played Mozart's sunny concertos all over the world. Claude Vivier, considered one of the most promising composers of his generation, was brutally murdered in 1983. Conductor Peter Oundjian studied the violin with Itzhak Perlman and was the leading violinist for the Tokyo String Quartet for over fourteen years. Presently he is the Chief Conductor of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
