Sólrún Ylfa Ingimarsdóttir finished her violin studies at Sigursveinn D. Kristinsson School of Music in 2016. She then went on to the Iceland University of the Arts to study with Auður Hafsteinsdóttir. In 2019, she moved to Copenhagen where she studied with Alexandre Zapolski at the RDAM - she completed her bachelor's degree in the spring of 2021 and her master's degree in 2023. Sólrún Ylfa has been an active participant in chamber music and orchestra projects in Iceland, Denmark, Sweden and the Faroe Islands, and has served the role of a concertmaster and section leader in youth orchestras. She also plays with the string trio Tríó Sól, which focuses on contemporary chamber music and folk music.
Sólrún Ylfa is also an active illustrator, her drawings can be found in several published children's books, and she has created two stop-motion animation short films that have received international nominations and awards.
